I didn’t plan on listing the contents of my airsoft armory on this blog, but by the number of requests I am getting it looks like some of you actually want to know. So, in no particular order… here we go:
Tokyo Marui G3A3
This was my very first airsoft replica that I purchased from Art at Replisoft in Arcadia, CA in 2001. I’ve used it countless games and she’s never let me down. Internally it’s been upgraded to shoot about 350fps w/.20g BBs with a Prometheus 6.01mm tight bore inner barrel. I need to wire up a MOSFET for LiPo use but there’s no rush. Externally I’ve added Classic Army metal body kit which takes the weight waaay up. Once I got into the G36 scene, she took a back seat and only gets brought out for specialty RP games or when I feel like I need to test my arm-day gains.
Tokyo Marui G3A4
This is my take on a modernized G3A4 of what was once a G3A3. She’s been around the block and finally landed in my hands in 2005. Externally almost everything has been changed; Classic Army metal body kit, railed handguard, rail mounted bipod, and A4 retractable stock (installing soon?). Internally it’s been wired to the front, upgraded to shoot about 350fps w/.20g BBs with a Prometheus 6.01mm tight bore inner barrel. Next phase is to upgrade the internals to as close to 400fps as I can get and to wire for a MOSFET to support LiPo batteries.
Tokyo Marui G36
The AEG that launched a sickness in me. I got this AEG from Replisoft in Arcadia, CA back in 2003 when I really leaned into the whole modern German BW theme. To list the upgrades this AEG has seen over it’s life would be a book unto itself and probably make me cry at the cost! It started as a “C” variant but has since matured to the full battle-rifle sized “A” variant. In it’s current state; externally I’ve added an long outer barrel, long handguard w/bipod and replica Hensoldt optic. Internally; its been upgraded to shoot 350fps w/.20g BBs with a Prometheus 6.01mm tight bore barrel and wired with a MOSFET for LiPo battery use. Frequently I swap the handguard out with the Star AG36 40mm grenade launcher to add a ton of weight and sling additional 6mm death but most importantly to increase the cool factor by 10! I plan to be buried with this AEG.
Tokyo Marui G36KE
I got this AEG from Redwolf Airsoft back in 2004 as a backup for my main G36 after it went down at local CA event. It started as a “C” variant and has been modified to a carbine-length “KE” variant. Externally I’ve added a K-length outer barrel & flash hider, K-length handguard w/rails, foregrip and replica Hensoldt “E” optic. Occasionally I will swap the optic with a KSK rail, red dot and flip-up backup. Internally; its been upgraded to shoot 350fps w/.20g BBs with a Prometheus 6.01mm tight bore barrel and wired with a MOSFET for LiPo battery use. As with the G36 ,I swap the handguard out with the Star AG36 40mm grenade launcher when I feel saucy.
Tokyo Marui G36C
I got this AEG from Airsoft Extreme in Torrance, CA back in 2006 to fill a CQC role. Externally I’ve done very little to this one, just added a reflex red dot sight, rails to the handguard as well as a MOE foregrip. Internally; its been upgraded to shoot 350fps w/.20g BBs with a Madbull 6.03mm tight bore barrel and wired with a MOSFET for LiPo battery use. This AEG probably has the lowest mileage in my stable.
Star AG36 40mm Grenade Launcher
Sometimes you need the right tool to get the job done. The Star AG36 is by far my favorite accessory for the G36 line of AEGs. It’s weight is substantial and when you add a 40mm MOSCART style of grenade, its downright offensive. Each time I equip it on one of the G36s I instantly question my decision to run it, but it’s just too damn cool to reconsider. I mostly use 168rd shower shells regardless of the area of operation we are in, and if vehicle/rocket rules are in-play I will lob Nerf Howler footballs with great range and effect. If run a G36, you need this. Just say’n.
Tokyo Marui MP5K
I honestly don’t remember where I got this AEG but it was in CA back in 2002 (I think) as a secondary when I ran my Maruzen L96 sniper kit. Externally I’ve added a folding K stock, Swordfish rail system and a reflex red dot sight. Internally; its been upgraded with a Systema high-speed gear set, bushings and nothing else. She shoots stock 285fps w/.20g BBs with a stock barrel. Range and accuracy isn’t my concern with this AEG. It’s soul purpose is to spew a mess of BBs in the direction of whatever baddie breeches my minimum engagement distance, giving me a fighting chance to counter or time to escape. It’s also a nasty ambush weapon and PDW due to the high rate of fire and it’s compact size lets me carry/stow it almost anywhere.
Classic Army M249
Acquired in November 2024, this was the first AEG I’ve purchase in over 15 years! I haven’t done anything other than fix a bug in the wiring, and don’t think I’ll have to do much else. The previous owner already installed a Bullgear hop-up unit and a Krytac 6.05mm tight bore barrel which would be in-line with what I would have done with a new AEG. Eventually I want to add a Ranger foregrip and maybe even a Mk.II stock, but no rush. Looking forward to regretting owning a ~15lb/~7kg AEG.
Javelin M24
After a long hiatus from sniping and selling all my spring and gas platforms, I was sent this spring rifle for review back in 2012. I’m documenting the upgrade and tuning process on this site through posts tagged with “m24” but I’ll give the short version here. Externally, I added a Mueller 3-12 40mm scope and threaded suppressor adapter to hide the inner barrel. Internally, I’ve replaced just about everything to have it chrono at about 540fps w/.02g BBs with a Madbull Black Python 6.03mm inner barrel. I run Novritsch biodegradable .43g BBs for additional accuracy.
KWA Glock 17
The KWA Glock 17 has been my secondary for the vast majority of games since the early 2000’s. It just simply works without exception. I’ve upgraded it with an enhanced recoil kit and high-flow valves for the 3 magazines. Externally I 3D printed a compensator for a trial run.
KWA Glock 18C
This KWA Glock 18C came into my possession in a giant mixed bag of parts. It was venting gas after 2 or 3 shots and the previous owner was simply tired of troubleshooting the issue. The problem was the rocket valve had snapped in half. Once replaced, she runs like a boss.
Tokyo Marui Mk23 SOCOM
The venerable Mk23 has been my secondary when sniping for a while now. Silent, non-blowback and amazingly accurate, this tough beasty is probably the only sidearm I’d consider running as a primary. I’ve upgraded this one with a Hadron TDC hop-up mod and Maple Leaf AUTOBOTS bucking with a longer Maple Leaf Crazy Jet inner barrel yet to be installed.
Tokyo Marui Desert Eagle Hard Kick
This is an NPC RP/statement piece. If I play a role that requires a bit of flare or ridiculousness, what better sidearm to pick than a chromed desert eagle? To be perfectly honest, I don’t think I’ve actually shot a BB through it!
Tanaka .44 4″ Heavy Weight
The Tanaka .44 4″ Heavy Weight was purchased on a whim as an NPC RP weapon for flare before the TM Desert Eagle was a thing. The cross-body leather holster and dummy .44 rounds makes it stand out and call attention to the little details us dorks appreciate. I replaced the stock wood grips with real S&W oak grips and a tight-bore barrel. I used this gun when I refereed at Milsim Tactical Field in Sylmar, CA until I switched to a Marushin Constrictor in 8mm which we nicknamed “The Judge”, but that’s another story for another time.
Marushin Derringer
I wrote a review on this little gun a while back and now carry it in my general purpose pouch next to the snacks in case I ever get “captured” in a game. Pulling it out and getting surrender kill or legit hit kill with it is extremely satisfying. It’s really grown on me and being chambered in 8mm, that’s just icing on the cake.
Madbull XM203 40mm Grenade Launcher
I really only use this launcher on the G3A4 to deploy 168rds of 6mm pain via 40mm shower shells. I thought about making an extended tube to accommodate foam “rockets” or some other version of game-control approved HE projectile but… well, I’m lazy. I’m also hoping for a manufacturer to pull the trigger on a semi-realistic/accurate HK79 launcher, but I’m not holding my breath. This is a great stand-in and should I ever branch out to other replicas with rail systems, it will fit the bill perfectly.
